The Technical Security Engineer (TSE) position is within the IT Security group whose mission is to deliver information security solutions and services that protect information assets, computing infrastructure, applications and data.
The TSE will perform a variety of hands-on, technical risk analysis and assessment activities, including architecture and design reviews, security assessments, and network, system and application penetration testing. The TSE will serve as a liaison to product, engineering, and technical operations groups and provide lifecycle information security consulting support.
The TSE will be expected to thoroughly understand the business, perform risk analyses and write and present guidance based on that understanding.
Responsibilities:
Conducts hands-on, technical risk assessments of web applications, systems, and networks.
Recommends courses of action to mitigate security vulnerabilities and threats to consumer products and web services, as well as corporate applications and back office environments.
Consults with product and infrastructure development teams on security architecture, secure software design and threat modeling.
Work with a variety of vulnerability assessment, scanning, and other application security technologies.
Work with various business groups to understand business requirements and how security vulnerabilities and risks affect the business.
Write and present technical security guidance and apply security policy andEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
